It’s almost our first day back!

Tuesday, September 5 from 4:30 – 6:00 PM is our Meet the Teacher event.

We would like all parents and their children to drop in to meet teachers, tour the school and get any questions answered that you may have.

Families can head to their children’s homerooms when they arrive. If you are not sure which homeroom to go to, lists and maps will be posted near the office.

To be prepared for this event families are asked to please bring:

Coming to the Meet the Teacher event will also allow families to:

  • Learn about and get set up on the Parent Portal
  • Complete forms for volunteering at MMS (in the school and driving). These  require a child abuse registry check and a pledge of confidentiality form to be completed as well.
  • Complete a registration verification to make sure we have all up to date phone numbers, email addresses etc.
  • Pick up classroom based materials and a divisional calendar

Please take a few minutes to review this presentation that I shared last June.  It will help you get ready for the new school year!

Welcome Keynote from June 2017

Our first official day of school is Wednesday, September 6, 2017 (day 1). All students are asked to be in their homerooms by 9 AM. Dismissal time is at 3:40 PM (bussed students) and 3:45 PM (town students). Our bell schedule can be found here.

On the first day (Sept 6, 2017) students will be in their homerooms from 9 AM – 11 AM followed by a school wide assembly from 11 AM – 11:55 AM. Parents are welcome to join us for this assembly. After lunch all students will follow their regular schedule for the afternoon.

September 7 (day 2) will be a regular school day. All grade levels will have a grade level meeting some time in the morning to review grade level expectations and to  get the year started off right!

To stay up to date with all of the goings on at MMS please keep an eye on this blog and our:

Two important dates to keep in mind are September 15 and 18. These are our Strong Connections days.  Your child(ren) will attend one of these two days. Watch for a schedule to come home in the coming days. The goal of these days is to get to know your children better so we can all have the best start to the year as we possibly can.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone soon! Please keep in touch!

Sincerely,

Andy
