HSD School Closure Policy

Extreme Hazardous Weather Schools will close when weather and road conditions in Hanover School Division are such that it is not advisable to transport students via school buses. If weather deteriorates after the school day has started, creating unsafe driving conditions that necessitate cancelling bus service for the return trip home, students will remain in school until other arrangements can be made. Middle Years Provincial Assessment

Wind Chill / Outdoor Activities

Hanover School Division will hold indoor recess when the wind chill factor reaches or exceeds -30 Celsius. Readings will be obtained from Environment Canada at  www.weatheroffice.ec.gc.ca . Many of our students are coming to school without jackets, toques and/or mitts. Please ensure your child comes to school appropriately dressed for the weather. It’s important students get the opportunity to get outside when the weather permits. Thank you.
