Happy New Year and welcome back to school! Students will be buzzing today as they have been away from classes for a little bit. We will be working on re-establishing routines as we get back on track with learning. I hope that everyone was able to spend some quality time with family, friends and loved ones over the break. All the best in 2020! Our school concerts in December were a huge success. We had a packed gym for both the matinee and evening performances. I am proud of all of the hard work that students and staff put in to make the concert successful, as the concert is very important to us. We appreciate your excitement and attendance as it validates all of the work that goes into the show.

Our school fundraiser is now done and we very much appreciate everyone’s support. This is our only major school wide fundraiser. We were able to raise over $2000 for new tools for our Makerspace.

A warm welcome back to Mrs. Burton who is returning to be the homeroom teacher for 6P. Thank you to Ms. Patrick for all her hard work and dedication to MMS students for the past year. Ms. Patrick will be coming back in a couple of weeks to be the new homeroom teacher for 5F as Mrs. Michelle Friesen begins her new adventure with her family.

January also means basketball season, so good luck to our boys and girls teams as they prepare for their league play. Our students are always great ambassadors that represent themselves, their families, and our school with pride. Thank you to our coaches who dedicate so much time to provide these opportunities for our kids.

I hope everyone has a great month, and please don’t hesitate to contact me at the school with any questions.
