MMS Meet the Teacher – September 8, 2020

2:00 PM – 6:00 PM

Our annual Meet the Teacher event is set for September 8, 2020 between 2:00 pm and 6:00 pm. All parents are encouraged to schedule a ten minute appointment with their 2020-21 Homeroom Teacher. Children are invited to be a part of the meeting as well. These meetings will take place in one of three manners:

  1. Face to face in the classroom by appointment only.
  2. Virtually by appointment only (Zoom)
  3. Via a phone call by appointment only

Parent Teacher Meetings

The goal of these meetings is to:

  • Be reintroduced or introduced to your child’s 2020-21 Homeroom Teachers.
  • Ensure any questions prior to the first day of school are answered.
  • Drop off school supplies (if an in school meeting is scheduled).

To schedule a ten minute appointment please go to the Parent Portal Parent Teacher Meeting Tab to book an appointment. The scheduler will be open to book appointments beginning on September 1, 2020 at 9:00 AM.

In the comment section of the scheduler please indicate what type of meeting you are signing up for.

    • Face to Face in the classroom
      • Families should arrive no more than 5 minutes prior to the appointment time and enter through the door designated for your child’s grade. See a map of entrances below.
      • When the meeting is over, please leave the school through the same door that you entered.
      • Please maintain a distance of at least 2 metres from all people while in the school.
      • Please wash your hands anytime a new classroom/spaces is entered/exited.
      • If you are feeling ill  in anyway at the time of your in class meeting please contact the school and we will reschedule the in school meeting or do it virtually or over the phone
    • Virtually (Zoom or some other agreed upon method)
      • The teacher will connect with you virtually at your scheduled appointment time
    • Phone call
      • The teacher will phone you at your scheduled appointment time

All forms for this school year will be completed on the Parent Portal. Please look for the following forms and update them as needed.

  • Walking Field Trip Permission Form
  • Permission to Publish (Hanover)
  • Permission to Publish (Media)


All parents are encouraged to pay for Student Fees via the Parent Portal. If you are unable to do so, please come to the school office prior to your appointment to pay for student fees. Details about student fees and supplies can be found here. If not paying student fees on the Parent Portal fees can be paid by:

  • Cheque (to Mitchell Middle School)
  • Cash
