December 9, 2020

Dear Parents/Guardians,

The purpose of this letter is to inform you that at the end of this calendar year, I will be leaving my position as principal of Mitchell Middle School.

In early January 2021, I will begin a new role as Principal (K-8) of the Provincial Remote Learning Support Centre. I have been seconded to begin the planning and implementation of this new remote learning support centre, which will serve all schools in Manitoba. Although I will miss my work with our school family, I look forward to the many challenges this new position offers.

I want to express my heartfelt gratitude for the opportunity to serve you, your children, and this outstanding school community over the past four years.  It has been my pleasure to serve as the principal at Mitchell Middle School, and my good fortune to experience a wonderful partnership with the students, staff and families in the Mitchell community and the Hanover School Division. I am immensely proud of our students, and I look forward to hearing great things about their accomplishments as they continue their education.

The Hanover School Division will announce a new interim principal for Mitchell Middle School shortly. I have the utmost confidence in the staff of MMS to carry on the good work that has been done so far this year in challenging conditions.

Sincerely,

Andrew Mead
Principal
