The Christmas season is such a wonderful time of year, and has so many different things to catch our attention!  The air has that unique smell and bite to it (though admittedly colder than I would like).  There are lights and decorations up everywhere.  We hear Christmas carols everywhere we go (“Santa Claus is Comin’ to Town” by Bruce Springsteen is one of my favourites, closely followed by the “Christmas/Sarajevo 12/24 (Instrumental)” medley by Trans-Siberian Orchestra).  There are all kinds of seasonal movies to watch together (in my house we have watched “Merry Christmas Charlie Brown” and “How the Grinch Stole Christmas” twice each already).  Then there is the fresh evergreen smell of the Christmas tree filling the house.  And the food . . .!

Aside from these common experiences, there are also all of the cool traditions unique to your own family that make the Christmas season special and meaningful for you.  As we enter the Christmas season, Mitchell Middle School wishes you a safe, healthy, and restful holiday, however you celebrate it!

Families, please be reminded that the Christmas holiday is scheduled a little differently this year.  Wednesday, December 22 is the last day of classes before the beginning of the Christmas Break.  Our first day back in session will be Thursday, January 6.
