After-School Programming
The nationally recognized after-school program provider Right At School recently conducted a survey of parents/guardians to gauge expression of interest in after-school programming for the Mitchell school community. We are pleased to announce that the survey results indicate a sufficient level of interest in this fee-based service to proceed.
Registration for Fall 2018
Registration is Now Open! Conditional upon receiving sufficient registrations, Right At School will offer after-school programming at Mitchell Middle School in partnership with Mitchell Elementary School. We need about 10 families between the two schools to provide this excellent opportunity.
MES students will start the Right at School Programming at MES 3:20 PM – 3:35 PM. Students will do fun physical activity called Right Moves in the MES Gym. At 3:35 PM MES students will walk, supervised by Right at School staff, to MMS to finish of the Right at School programming. MMS students who register will join the programming at 3:45 pm. This program runs until 6:00 pm daily.
This program would run from the first day of school (September 5, 2018) until the end of June 2019.
We have chosen to run this program out of MMS as there is more space. This also allows for families with children from Kindergarten to Grade 8 to register. As well, having MES students visit MMS on a regular basis helps when the time comes to transition between MES and MMS.

Although there is no deadline for fall registration, parents/guardians are encouraged to register before June 30, 2018. Registering early will assist us in determining site viability (minimum daily average of 15 students per day) and ensures the program will operate as scheduled at MES/MMS.
Program
The Right Club is here for working parents who are looking for a safe and comfortable place for their child every day after school, as well as parents who want to extend their child’s day with enrichment, fitness and fun. Led by our nurturing educators, your child will become part of an after-school community that truly feels like family. Programs are held on-site at your child’s school Monday-Friday, afternoon dismissal to 6:00 pm.
- Fitness – After a long school day, we know kids need to let out energy. We make time daily for extended fitness activities and go outside every chance we get! We have an entire curriculum dedicated to health and fitness.
- Homework Help – Homework is always a priority at Right At School. Children are grouped by grade level to complete their homework and our talented educators work to help students understand their homework but will not solve the problems for the students.
- Daily Curriculum – Daily, experiential learning activities are an integral part of our day. Our curriculum features themes that change every two weeks, including “Icky Experiments” and “Young Detectives.” Daily choice and child-driven projects give students freedom to explore individually, in small groups, and as a community.
